Avon Products, Inc. has announced that former fashion retail executive James S. Scully has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of the beleaguered direct seller beauty company. He will report to chief executive officer Sheri McCoy, effective no later than April 1, 2015, and will lead all finance and information technology functions.
 
Scully has spent nine years with clothing and accessories retailer J. Crew, in roles including executive vice president and chief financial officer, chief administrative officer and, most recently, as chief operating officer, behind international expansion efforts. Prior to J. Crew, he served in treasury and strategic and financial planning roles at luxury retailer Saks Incorporated, and in corporate finance and banking roles at Bank of America.
